We need your Photos/Video

Do you have great photos and/or video of OΔK related events or members? Well start organizing them. In the near future OΔK is going to start pushing our media in a new direction and we want you to be a part of it. We will need properly labeled, high-quality images and video of anything OΔK is a part of. So get them ready and then stay tuned for information on where to submit.
Dear Member,

The 1914 Club newsletter has been on hiatus since earlier in the year.  In taking over the new role of Director of Development and Alumni Services, I will be producing this newsletter for your donor group.  I want you to let me know what kinds of information you will find interesting, useful, or fun.  This is YOUR special newsletter, so I want it to be something you look forward to reading, and not just another message in your in-box.

So, here we go....
Any suggestions for a creative name for this newsletter?
Interested in serving as a volunteer on a small editorial board to help pull together items of interest?
Do you have photos of the OΔK key that you may find on different campus settings?  We'd like to see them!
If the 1914 Club had a Facebook page or tab on OΔK's FB page, would you sign up?
Are you more interested in statistics, facts and figures, photos, or stories of your peers?  Any suggestions for content?

All ideas are welcome and send them to bobby@odk.org with 1914 in the subject line. Let this be the last message about me, and from now on it will all be about you and OΔK. Thanks!

You'll know from reading the Circle that the relocation date is fast approaching. The OΔK offices will bid farewell to Lexington, KY the last week of July, and hope to be moved in and ready for business in Lexington, VA on August 1. During that time you may experience some delay in communications, but you can check the website for last minute details and information. Our goal will be to make the transition as quickly and smoothly as possible.

OΔK is moving ahead with social networking communication options,  so if you are looking for classmates from your Circle or relocating to a new city and looking for OΔK connections, take advantage of these communication tools.  Links are on the OΔKwebsite.

The website also has a career networking board. Check it out if you are looking for a new job, or looking for someone for a new hire.

Please keep OΔK a priority in your charitable giving, and remember to send your gift before June 30, the end of the OΔK fiscal year.

Thanks for your continued interest and support,

CLT2 report from Richmond, VA
CLT2 Group Photo

Each year a select group of OΔK collegians are invited to participate in our signature program Campus Leaders Today, Community Leaders Tomorrow.
As you may know, the program provides an opportunity for select OΔK members to learn about non-profit board responsibilities, how to match their interests with future board service, and how nonprofits contribute to healthy societies. Those attending were provided an opportunity to visit nonprofit organizations in the Richmond area to gain real-world insights, as well as participate in content rich lectures and board simulation exercises.  Here are two comments from this year's evaluations:

"This conference was an engaging and unique experience that has made a profound impact on my future nonprofit work. As I begin to serve on my first board this year, I will be immediately utilizing the skills that I have just learned. There is no other way that I could have gained this information so succinctly and I cannot thank ODK enough for providing this opportunity." -Kevin Hoffman, Grove City College

"This program was successful in addressing the concerns and issues of serving on a nonprofit board both at the level of theory and the level of practice.  It gave me a lot of information about a field I had known very little about, and certainly has inspired me to become an active leader in nonprofits as well as a general contributor of philanthropy." - Chris Holdgraf, Tulane University

In order to make CLT2 available to more collegians, OΔK is planning to add a second CLT2 weekend annually and seeks additional funding.  If you would like to invest in the growth of this program, please visit the OΔK online donation page, or mail your gift restricted to CLT2, to OΔK.  This newsletter will continue to provide information about program development and its special role within OΔK.
Historic Homecoming Ahead
Omicron Delta Kappa's Centennial will be celebrated in2014.  As a part of moving toward that milestone, OΔK will be historic in more than one way when it completes the relocation of its national headquarters back to its birthplace at Washington& Lee University and takes up residence in the historic Lexington, VA train station this summer.  These photos show a bit of the history of the station over the years.
