1914 Club Newsletter

The 1914 Club is a group of members that have donated toward the 100th anniversary of Omicron Delta Kappa. Dubbed the "1914 Club" members were asked to make contributions toward our upcoming 100th anniversary. Every donation helps our society prepare for our celebration coming up in 2014. We appreciate everyone's involvement with the club and we hope that you continue to support the society.

To become a member of the 1914 Club click here to make a secure donation to OΔK online. Be sure to make your designation of your donation to the "1914 Club." As a member, you will receive an additional year subscription to The Circle, receive a quarterly newsletter, and an official 1914 club magnet to display your contribution to OΔK.

CLT2 2008

Although some of the 1914 Club members have already participated in CLT2, I wanted to alert the entire group to our plans for this summer's CLT2 program.  CLT2 2009 will be held in Phoenix from June 16-19.  As before, ODK will cover the costs of the attendees including transportation, lodging, meals, and materials.

CLT2 focuses on teaching the fundamentals of service on nonprofit boards of directors.  Almost all of you will eventually have an opportunity to serve on a nonprofit board; this program gives you an edge that will improve the quality of your service and will make a positive impact on the nonprofit boards on which you serve.

If you are interested in attending or know of a fellow member who is, go to our
CLT2 page and complete the application online. Note that the $50 application fee is the only fee if you are selected, and will be refunded if you are not.

1914 Club Newsletter
January 2009

Dear 1914 Club Member:

As you are a supporter of Omicron Delta Kappa - and one who knows that we are only five years from the 100th Anniversary of our founding at Washington and Lee University - I am excited to introduce you to the new Omicron Delta Kappa website.  It is still located at the same address, www.odk.org but has so many new features that it is "more than just a pretty face."  I'm sure you will agree.  Do check it out and let us know what you think.

If you are a Circle Officer, you also have access to officer tools, resources, and forms. Keep an eye out for the next Friday Letter which will have more details about the officer section of the website.

Regional Conferences

Old Regional Conference Photo

ODK will not be hosting our next National Leadership Summit and Convention in Houston until June 2010, so for this year we are holding several Regional Conferences for our members to attend. You do not have to be a current student or faculty member to profit from the experience; in fact, your work experience may be of great benefit to the younger members of the Society.  We encourage you to consider attending one of the several Regional Conferences being held around the country.

To find out more about the dates, places and contact information for the upcoming Regional Meetings visit your
Region's web page.

Thank you again for your support of Omicron Delta Kappa and the 1914 Club. Your support and leadership is what has kept ODK going strong for 95 years!

Sincerely,

John D. Morgan
