Morlan and Bishop Faculty Officer Awards

A. The ΟΔΚ® Robert L. Morlan Faculty Secretary Award and Robert Bishop Faculty Adviser Award will be presented during the National Leadership Summit and Convention in 2010.

B. The conditions of and the materials required for the Awards are:
  1. The nominee must have been an active voting faculty member of the Circle a minimum of 5 years and have served at least 3 years as Faculty Secretary/Adviser. The nominee must currently be serving as Faculty Secretary/Adviser.
  2. One completed nomination form must be submitted via the OΔK website or sent to National Headquarters.
  3. One copy of the nominee’s resume (4 pages or less) should be sent electronically or by mail to Molly Marsh (molly@odk.org) at National Headquarters.
  4. The nomination must be endorsed by the Circle membership. The signature of the Circle President and the Faculty Adviser shall attest to endorsement of the Circle.
  5. The Regional level winner is the nominee of the Region at the National level. The Regional Director in charge of awards must endorse (in writing) the Regional winner and send the written endorsement and the nominee’s file to the National Chairperson.
C. Competition Levels

Local: The Circle must submit the nomination form, to National Headquarters via the online form or by mailing a printed copy of the form with a submission date/postmark date of November 15, 2009.

DEADLINE: November 15, 2009.

Regional: The Regional Director, serving as Chairperson, along with a Faculty Secretary/Adviser, and a Circle President select the Regional nominee from the nominations submitted from the Circles. The Regional winner is declared “Outstanding ΟΔΚ Faculty Secretary” or "Outstanding ΟΔΚ Faculty Adviser." NOTE: The three committee members should represent three different ΟΔΚ Circles. The Circle President should be selected on a rotating basis among the Circles.

DEADLINE: The Regional winner’s file must be sent by December 15, 2009, to the National Committee Chair:

National: The National Chairperson will send the files of each of the 4 Regional winners to the National Committee. The National Committee will select the 2010 Robert L. Morlan Faculty Secretary Award and Robert Bishop Faculty Adviser Award winners from the 4 nominees. The winner will be notified of the award on or before February 3, 2010 and will be recognized at the National Leadership Summit and Convention. Regional winners that did not win the National Award will also be notified on or before February 3, 2010.
