Circle Advisor Training Workshop

CATW 2022 attendees
CATW 2022 Attendees

Omicron Delta Kappa deeply recognizes circle advisors’ contribution to our circles’ health and viability. A key focus of OΔK’s 2022-2024 Strategic Plan involves providing more training and support to advisors, as OΔK’s role as a national leadership honor society requires more dedication and involvement from you compared to other advising roles. To support this effort, the Society offers the Circle Advisor Training Workshop. This two-day program features dynamic speakers, opportunities to engage with fellow advisors, and support from the OΔK national headquarters team. You will leave with a deeper understanding of the Society, resources and support to fulfill and enjoy your advising responsibilities, and a new network of colleagues to call on for advice. This event is focused on advisors who are relatively new to the role, generally within the past two years.

Testimonials

“I thought it was beneficial – not just to learn about the value that OΔK has to offer circles and students (and alumni, etc.) but to network and feel supported with others who are working toward similar goals. I am very grateful that you were willing to make this available to us, and just appreciate the enthusiasm, time, expertise and wonderful attitudes of service demonstrated this weekend.”

-Leah Adinolfi, Faculty Advisor, East Tennessee State University (2022 CATW attendee)

“My participation in the CATW brought back wonderful memories of my time as a collegiate member of OΔK, the rich friendships I made and the learning and leadership we cultivated amongst each other and for our campus.”

-Kim McMahon, Circle Coordinator, University of South Carolina (2022 CATW attendee)

CANCELLATION/NO SHOW FEES: Because OΔK is agreeing to cover the costs of hotel and meals, we are required to provide final numbers several business days in advance. If an attendee cancels after December 20, 2022, or fails to show, Omicron Delta Kappa will invoice the circle/institution for the full amount of the hotel and meals. When registering for the program, attendees indicate that they have read this cancellation/no-show clause and agree to its terms.

COVID EVENT PROTOCOL: Although the pandemic is easing, we continue to assess the risks in the area local to the event and the current status in the United States. In keeping with the Society’s duty of care and the responsibility as host, O∆K has implemented safety requirements for the Circle Advisors Training Workshop. We ask that all attendees be vaccinated and boosted unless it poses a health risk. We may ask non-vaccinated individuals to be tested if the situation nearer the date of the event requires additional measures. Masking options will be determined as we approach the date of the program.
