Circle Advisor Training Workshop

2025 CATW attendees

The 2027 CATW dates have not yet been determined.

Omicron Delta Kappa deeply recognizes the contribution of circle advisors to the health and viability of our circles. The Society is dedicated to providing training and support to advisors, as OΔK’s role as a national leadership honor society requires greater dedication and involvement than other advising roles. To support this effort, the Society offers the Circle Advisor Training Workshop. This two-day program features dynamic speakers, opportunities to engage with fellow advisors, and support from the OΔK national headquarters team. You will leave with a deeper understanding of the Society, resources and support to fulfill and enjoy your advising responsibilities, and a new network of colleagues to call on for advice. This event is focused on newer advisors, as well as more experienced advisors who could benefit from additional training to assist in revitalizing or struggling circles.

DATES:  January 9-10, 2026
REGISTRATION: Limited to 40 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis; registration will take place through the MyODK platform

Testimonials

“If you don’t have a staff member who is present or willing to hand off the baton, it can feel overwhelming (because we all have so much on our plates right now). It was very helpful to hear from you all and other existing circles from other campuses.”

-Tasha Gillum, Circle Coordinator, University of Lynchburg (2025 CATW attendee)

“I can personally attest that the CATW is an investment you can make in yourself and your students. These sessions allow you to see a complete picture of how circles not only function but also thrive. The workshops are designed to eliminate the ambiguity that comes with guiding circles, which will provide you with clarity, direction, and a robust collection of tools you can immediately apply to your efforts of improving student leadership skills and exceptional student fellowship.”

-Sheridan Henson, Circle Coordinator, Cumberland University (2024 CATW attendee)

“I thought it was beneficial – not just to learn about the value that OΔK has to offer circles and students (and alumni, etc.) but to network and feel supported with others who are working toward similar goals. I am very grateful that you were willing to make this available to us, and just appreciate the enthusiasm, time, expertise and wonderful attitudes of service demonstrated this weekend.”

-Leah Adinolfi, Faculty Advisor, East Tennessee State University (2022 CATW attendee)

“My participation in the CATW brought back wonderful memories of my time as a collegiate member of OΔK, the rich friendships I made and the learning and leadership we cultivated amongst each other and for our campus.”

-Kim McMahon, Circle Coordinator, University of South Carolina (2022 CATW attendee)

COVID EVENT PROTOCOL: Although the pandemic is officially over, we continue to assess the risks in the area local to the event and the current status in the United States. In keeping with the Society’s duty of care and the responsibility as host, O∆K has implemented safety requirements for the Circle Advisors Training Workshop. We ask that all attendees be vaccinated and boosted unless it poses a health risk. We may ask non-vaccinated individuals to be tested if the situation nearer the date of the event requires additional measures. Masking options will be determined as we approach the date of the program.
