The Omicron Delta Kappa Society and Educational Foundation Board of Trustees also include three student members and three faculty and staff members. The faculty/staff members are voted upon by sitting circle coordinators and faculty advisors to serve as faculty/staff trustees. One faculty/staff member is elected each year. The Board of Trustees establishes the timetable for student and faculty/staff trustee elections. Information regarding the 2024 student and faculty/staff trustee elections will be posted in November 2023.
Student and faculty/staff candidates for membership to the Board shall demonstrate sound judgment, as well as understanding and appreciation of the Society’s activities. Members should be articulate, provide evidence of leadership skills and capabilities, and demonstrate personal skills such as integrity, enthusiasm, communication skills, critical thinking, decision-making, and follow-through. All trustees support the work of O∆K and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by President/CEO, the Board and President/CEO relationship is a partnership.
The Board of Trustees of the Omicron Delta Kappa Society and Educational Foundation, Inc. meets four times a year: normally once a year in person and three times a year virtually. Trustees are expected to participate in all meetings. Service on the Board of Trustees is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to the duties of trustees.
