What is Discord?
Discord is a versatile online communication platform that combines text, voice, and video chat features. It allows individuals and groups to create digital spaces called “servers” where they can interact, share information, and collaborate. With its user-friendly interface, Discord offers a range of tools for managing discussions, hosting events, and building online communities effectively.
OΔK’s private Discord server is intended to function as a networking hub for its members. The OΔK Discord server will serve as an exclusive platform for members to connect for events, post and search for volunteer, internship, or job opportunities, gain academic support, and socialize with one another free of time zone or scheduling limitations. How to Access Discord

Discord Channels
The Discord server is organized into several categories to cater to different aspects of community engagement:
- The “Welcome Category” is the entry point, offering essential information, community guidelines, announcements, introductions, and a platform for suggesting improvements.
- In the “General Category,” members can engage in various discussions, including conference-related chats.
- The “Professional Category” provides resources for career growth and education. It includes sections for career advice, academic guidance, and opportunities.
- The “Miscellaneous Category” promotes social connections with various chats focused on hobbies, photos, and self-care, fostering relationships among members. We plan to expand our channels to meet our members’ needs and wants as we further the community.
