As an initiate of Omicron Delta Kappa, you are a Lifetime Member in our honor society, and your achievements will always be recognized. However, looking to the future, we must acknowledge that ΟΔΚ cannot sustainably finance our organization and support our programs and services without diversified revenue. We cannot continue to rely on the fees of student initiates as the primary source of income. For generations, lifetime members have had access to Member Benefits without any requirement to contribute to the Society after the initiation fee.
After careful review and many years of discussion, the Omicron Delta Kappa Board of Trustees voted in 2024 to ask our members to support the work of the Society through a renewing membership fee. The membership fee can be paid annually or through a one-time Legacy Membership payment. Annual and Legacy Memberships are not considered donations and may not be tax-deductible.
Membership Statuses
- Active Initiate – ($94 Initiation Fee) As an initiate, you immediately gain access to all Member Benefits. Your initiate type (student, faculty/staff, alumni, or honorary) determines when your access to member benefits will expire. For students, it is one year after the graduation date listed in your application for membership. For all others, it is one year from the date of initiation. After that, you will need to renew your active status. You will be listed as an initiate until you pay Annual or Legacy fees.
- Annual – ($50 per year) The Annual Membership fee is required to maintain active status and access to Member Benefits after the Active Initiate period. Active Annual members receive renewal notices beginning one month before their active expiration date.
- Legacy – ($500 one-time) Becoming a Legacy Member provides you access to Member Benefits for the remainder of your life. The return on your investment in OΔK is just 10 years. The first 500 Legacy Members receive a membership card and a numbered commemorative coin.
- Inactive – Any member who has not renewed their active status will be listed as inactive. As such, you are an OΔK Lifetime Member, and you will have access to your MyODK profile. Inactive status prevents you from enjoying the many benefits of membership.
Note about Circle Officers—While serving as a circle advisor or student officer, initiated members will have their activation fees waived. Officers will receive one additional year after they leave their position before they are required to pay membership fees.
How to Renew Your Membership
Option #1 – Renew and Pay Online
- Log in to your MyODK Profile. If you have not activated your MyODK account, follow these steps.
- Once logged in, select “Access Your Records” from the homepage. Then, select “Renew Membership” under Membership Info.
