One of the big ways that OΔK students, faculty, staff, and alumni can make a real difference to the Society is by serving on an operating committee. Committee members have the opportunity to make a real contribution and move the organization forward. Read more about each opportunity by opening the sections below.
National Awards Committee
The National Awards Committee shall oversee the nomination and/or application and selection processes for the Gen. Russell E. Dougherty National Leader of the Year, the Maurice A. Clay Leadership Development Initiative Grants, Cheryl M. Hogle Distinguished Service Award, Eldridge W. Roark Jr. Meritorious Service Award, and the Robert L. Morlan and Robert Bishop Outstanding Circle Advisor Award.
Scholarship Review and Selection Committee
This committee establishes the criteria for consideration of candidates for Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarships and makes the selection of the scholarship recipients each year.
Student Advisory Board
The Student Advisory Board (SAB) is charged with exploring and recommending strategies for engaging collegiate members in circle activities, circle leadership, the national leadership conference, and other volunteer roles outside of service on the Board or committees. Only currently enrolled students are eligible to serve. In addition, the SAB is responsible for advocating for the student perspective in the discussions regarding communications, policies, and procedures. The Student Advisory Board is also expected to work in conjunction with the Annual National Conference Committee to offer a conference program related to its mission. It is chaired by the National Student Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees.
