2021 Faculty/Staff Trustee Application

General Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before you begin your application. You will be required to provide specific information and upload documents before you can complete the application. If you do not have these documents prepared, you may not be able to complete the application. We will not consider incomplete applications.

There are five (5) sections.

Section 1 – Personal Information: Campus and permanent contact information are required.

Section 2 – O∆K Involvement: Nominees will be evaluated by the Board Nominations Subcommittee on the basis of their (a) local, regional and/or national visibility in the Society, (b) participation in the Society at the local, regional, or national level, and (c) other contributions to the Society that relate to the advancement of O∆K’s mission and ideals.

Section 3 – Professional Information: We ask applicants to provide information about their current place of employment and position.

Section 4 – Written Statement: Applicants are required to submit a written statement through this form (700-word maximum). We recommend that applicants write the statement in a text-editing program and copy the proofed/edited text into the text box when ready to submit. Pay close attention to format instructions. If selected as one of the candidates for election, we will publish your written statement on the election webpage.

Section 5 – Documents: A resume (.pdf) and professional quality photo (.jpg or .png). The applicant’s attached resume should focus on campus, volunteer, and extracurricular activities that demonstrate leadership skills. If selected as one of the candidates for election, we will publish your photo on the election webpage. Please be sure to remove any personal contact information (address, phone numbers, email address) from your resume/vita.

All required information must be complete. Any incomplete information may result in the application not being considered by the review committee.

When the applicant has all the documentation required, prepared written statement, and is ready to complete the application, select NEXT.

If any part of the required documentation or information is missing or not complete, EXIT the form now.

Section 2: O∆K Involvement *

O∆K Involvement
Applicants must be an initiated member of Omicron Delta Kappa.
Nominees will be evaluated by the Board Nominations Subcommittee on the basis of their (a) local, regional and/or national visibility in the Society, (b) participation in the Society at the local, regional, or national level, and (c) other contributions to the Society that relate to the advancement of O∆K’s mission and ideals.

Section 3: Professional Information *

Professional Information
Candidates for election must be a current or retired faculty/staff member at a university or college.
For retired applicants, please list the employer at the time of your retirement.
For retired applicants, please list the position you held at the time of your retirement.

Section 4: Personal Statement *

Personal Statement
Provide a written state about your interest in serving O∆K on the Board of Trustees, your engagement with O∆K at the circle level, your leadership philosophy, the purpose for running, and goals for the Society's future (500-700 words).

Section 5: Document Upload *

Document Upload

The resume or curriculum vita is required in pdf form.

Please ensure that all pages are legible and sequentially numbered.  The document should be named in the following format:

LastName.FirstInitial.DocumentName

Example:  Public.J.Resume

The photo should be in .jpg or .png format and be high resolution.

The photo should be a high-quality professional-quality headshot.

By submitting this application, I understand and agree to the following: I am presently employed or retired as a faculty or staff member from a college or university. I will participate in a screening interview. I will participate in a live candidate forum that will be broadcast through the internet. I understand that this position is for three years beginning July 1, 2020, and ending June 30, 2023. I agree that I have read and understood the expectations of this position. I understand my failure to provide complete, accurate, and truthful information on this application will be grounds to deny or withdraw my application.
