The schedule for elections is determined by the Board of Trustees. Below is a tentative schedule for teh 2024 election cycle. All dates are subject to change.
December 1 – Save the date for nominations distributed to circle officers and advisors.
December 15 – Save the date for nominations distributed by email to all sitting Faculty Advisors and Circle Coordinators inviting them to nominate current and recent student members.
January 3 – Call for nominations and self-nominations distributed by email to collegiate initiates from the three preceding calendar years
Nomination forms (including self-nomination forms) will be posted on January 3, 2023.
Nominees are required to submit a nomination form; personal statement (500-700 words) about the nominee’s interest in serving Omicron Delta Kappa, leadership philosophy, purpose for running, and goals for the Society’s future; resume/curriculum vita (in PDF format with personal contact information removed); and professional headshot digital photograph.
February 1 – Special call for self-nominations sent to recent scholarship and National Leader of the Year recipients as well as current student officers
February 15 – Second call for nominations (sent to three preceding calendar years of collegiate initiates)
March 15 – Nominations close
April 1 – Preliminary candidates identified; initial screening interviews (by Zoom) between April 1 – 15
April 20 – Slate of three student candidates (one to be elected) announced and enrollment status confirmed; personal statement, resume/curriculum vita, and photograph for each candidate posted on the website
April 20 – Circle delegates informed of the secured procedure for election, including the opportunity to write-in a candidate
Early May – Virtual forum for a slate of up to three candidates
May 22 – 31 – Electronic voting by circle delegates
June 1 – New Student Trustee and National Student Vice Chair-Elect announced
