About the Circle
The Delta State University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa evolved from the local leadership honor society, Omicron Delta, which was organized in 1967 under the guidance of ODK members William Cash, the late Jack Gunn, the late W. F. LaForge, and other interested faculty and staff members. Recognition of the local society was accorded by the General Council of Omicron Delta Kappa when this Delta State University Circle of the National Society was formally installed on Sunday, May 23, 1971. Since its establishment the Circle has endeavored to recognize campus leadership among students and faculty, it has especially emphasized the value of free exchange of ideas among campus leaders and between student and faculty members of the Circle.
