About the Circle
The SUNY Oneonta Chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, a National Leadership Honor Society has been a part of the SUNY Oneonta community since April 1992. Being a part of this distinctive National Leadership Honor Society proves to be a very rewarding experience. Membership provides the opportunity to become actively involved in Circle events, to further develop achievements and experiences, to build lifelong friendships, and much more. As a member of ODK, members are encouraged to attend program/activity sessions and meetings. Ideas from members are also expected, for ODK is nothing without its members and their input.
New members are inducted to the SUNY Oneonta Circle once a year. Invitation to apply for membership on this campus is based on junior or senior standing and at least a 3.00 overall grade point average. Selection of members is based on a demonstrated record of scholarship and leadership activity on our campus in several of the following areas: athletics, campus and community service, social and religious activities, campus government, journalism, speech and the mass media, creative and performing arts. Students who wish to be considered for membership, must complete the online application form and an online recommendation form by the established due date. Questions regarding the process should be sent to the Circle President or the Circle Faculty Secretary.
