About the Circle
Randolph-Macon College is the oldest United Methodist College in the United States. The Alpha Lambda Circle at R-MC was founded on March 4, 1933, becoming the 33rd Circle. Since that time, R-MC has inducted over 5,000 outstanding students who have made a real difference both inside and outside the classroom. Our goal is to create a community of scholars who are also well-rounded leaders, on the campus, in the communities that we serve and in the global society. A select number of students, faculty and staff members, who have contributed significant leadership to the R-MC community, have attained academic excellence and who embody the virtues of ODK, are invited into membership each spring term.
Programs
ODK members serve in a variety of leadership positions on campus with several student groups. Our main event each year is the support of our Macon-A-Difference Day of service. This campus-wide event happens each spring around the time of our Leadership Week on campus. We also host the Leadership Awards for the entire campus and solicit leadership nominations from members of the Community for presentation at the ODK Leadership Awards Ceremony each spring.
