
David T. Shufflebarger
Planned Giving Coordinator
David T. Shufflebarger, a 1980 initiate of the Old Dominion University Circle, is Omicron Delta Kappa’s volunteer planned giving coordinator. He is known to most as “Shuff.” In this role, Shuff assists the staff, current, and potential donors with exploring various planned and estate giving options. He achieved CFRE status in 1987 and holds an undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University and a master’s degree from the College of William & Mary.
Shuff has been a professional fundraising consultant for more than a quarter-century. The majority of his clients have been connected to higher education. Previously, he assisted Omicron Delta Kappa with the planning for its first-ever comprehensive campaign. Prior to his career in assisting clients, he spent 25 years in senior advancement leadership roles at Virginia Military Institute, Old Dominion University, and Valdosta State University.
As a volunteer, Shuff has been chairman of the Board of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, president of the Tidewater Boy Scout Council, and a board member for more than 20 organizations including the Outer Banks Community Foundation, United Way of South Hampton Roads, Episcopal Charities Foundation of the Atlanta Diocese, and Georgia Planned Giving Council. He has received the YMCA’s Red Triangle Award and the Scouts’ Silver Beaver and Virginia President of the Year awards.
