2024 NLC Recap
The 2024 National Leadership Conference was held virtually November 13-15. Given the virtual format, the planning team focused on offering programming directed toward post-collegiate members in addition to the traditional circle operations and collegiate leadership development programs. Programming also included multiple sessions that facilitated virtual connection among participants as well as interactive gamification. The planning team worked diligently over several months to promote the conference through various creative outlets, including social media and YouTube video campaigns, generating just over 200 conference registrants. Attendance was highest for the opening featured speaker, Dr. Elizabeth Kiss and True Colors workshop. Session attendance was low for breakout sessions, though feedback from participants indicate session content was generally very good. The conference planning team reviewed conference evaluations and observations. The team recommends the society consider alternative models of virtual content delivery apart from the context of a consecutive-day conference.
The O∆K National Leadership Conference has three important purposes.
- Support personal leadership development in students, faculty, and staff [on our campuses]
- Support students and circle officers in building stronger circles
- Provide networking among members and a unique collaborative experience between members of all ages and pillars
