A year ago, I shared with you my bracket for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. As a reminder, I selected my bracket based on the following criteria:
1. The school with a Circle gets the win.
2. If the opponents both have Circles, the older Circle gets the win.
3. If neither opponent has a Circle (yet), the higher seeded team gets the win.
In the end, I got it right (actually, ODK got it right). In fact, we got it right in several respects.
Not only did I select Louisville to be national champions, but we also hired Dr. Tara Singer (a Lousiville grad!) as ODK’s fifth Executive Director. That’s what I call a win-win!
To show that the bracket is legit and picked based on the aforementioned criteria, you’ll note that I didn’t even select my home campus (UAlbany, chartered in 2003) but rather selected the #1 seeded Florida Gators (chartered in 1968).
Let’s see if Pittsburgh (chartered in 1916) can pull it off. Here’s wishing all of our student athletes all the best during this year’s tournament and beyond!
