O∆K’s 17th National Day of Service is on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Many individuals and circles participate in service on their campuses and in their communities throughout the year. You can share how you or your circle is providing service to others by submitting a report here. Here are some examples of leaders giving back in their communities:

ODK Director for Membership Services Jamie Bouldin, along with her son William, volunteered with the Evelyn Meador Branch Library as part of their annual Beautification Event. Volunteers at this event helped with outdoor planting, weeding and mulching projects, and also assisted library staff with preparing items for upcoming events.
O∆K members collaborated remotely with Humanity & Hope United and the Free Minds Book Club to make a meaningful difference. Over 20 members engaged with poetry written by incarcerated youth, signed up to participate in the virtual Write Week, or contributed donations to support educational initiatives for young people in Honduras. Reflecting on the experience, member Dremere Woods (National Circle, 2024) shared, “Supporting Humanity & Hope United and Free Minds Book Club reminded me that even the smallest actions—whether uplifting students in Honduras or encouraging incarcerated youth—can foster deep connections and create a lasting impact.”

ECU members gathered to assemble kindness bags for a local second-grade class preparing for End-of-Year tests. The bags included snacks, school supplies, fidget items, and handwritten encouragement notes. The event saw strong participation and collaboration with the community and other campus organizations.

The UAB chapter of ODK partnered with Letters of Love. Circle members set up a station for individuals to make cards to provide emotional support for children battling serious illnesses.

Members of the University of Minnesota Circle organized kits and materials for students to assemble tie-blankets to donate to Project Linus and Essentia Cancer Center in Duluth. Members created 33 blankets and distributed them among the two organizations.

Sonya raised funds for March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement, an event centered in uplifting communities for health equity, opening the door for all mothers to have access to care. Sonya raised over $1000 in support of the event, and earned herself a spot in the Circle of Champions and VIP. Sonya, alongside Duke students, walked in the 5k on April 12, 2025 where she finished in 1st place.

Throughout the summer, JP Morgan Chase Community Managers provided financial health workshops to Suffolk County Community College Educational Opportunity Program students. On August 8, 2024, Silas served as a panelist at the event, where he shared his personal journey of perseverance. The event highlighted Chase’s dedication to financial literacy and community engagement.

Molly led education programs at two community events in Arizona in March and April. Each event featured 5 raptors (hawks and owls) where visitors were able to see common Arizona raptors up close and learn more about the animal’s environment.
