The Omicron Delta Kappa Society and Educational Foundation, Inc. is looking for trustees who embrace the Society’s mission of recognizing, connecting, and developing leaders. A full description of the roles and responsibilities of at-large trustees may be found here.
The O∆K Board of Trustees is composed of 29 trustees, including 18 individuals who serve as trustees-at-large. Board members serve for three-year terms and may serve a second three-year term. The next appointments to the board will be made before the start of the 2026 fiscal year (July 1, 2025). Profiles of the current members of the Board of Trustees may be found here.
Trustees have the responsibility for setting the strategic direction for the organization, evaluating its progress toward completion of the goals and objectives as identified by the current strategic plan, and monitoring the organization’s finances as part of each member’s role as a fiduciary. Each trustee serves on one of the core committees of the board:
▶️ Development
▶️ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity
▶️ Finance
▶️ Governance and Trusteeship
▶️ Mission
Each of these committees meets quarterly. A number of the committees have subcommittees on which trustees may be asked to serve. Subcommittees also meet on a quarterly basis. All committee meetings are conducted virtually.
The Board of Trustees meets four times a year, normally once in-person and three times in a virtual format. Trustees-at-large are expected to cover their costs to attend in-person meetings. In addition, all trustees have a minimum giving requirement.
Trustees must be members of Omicron Delta Kappa. Experience with nonprofit governance is a consideration in the evaluation of trustee candidates.
