Kaye LaFollette (Belmont University, 2018) and J. David Gibbs (University of Richmond, 1974) recently made a gift of $125,000 to support the programs of Omicron Delta Kappa. Their gift will help fund the annual national leadership conference beginning in June 2020. In addition to establishing this new fund, Kaye and David have been long-time philanthropic partners with O∆K by supporting the Annual Fund as well as the purchase of the National Headquarters building. David served previously as a member and officer of O∆K’s Board of Trustees.
When asked why O∆K is important to them, Kaye and David shared, “Since the founding of our nation as a free people, leadership has been a critical ingredient to our shared success. The need for the development and recognition of servant leadership has never diminished, and today, as always, the need is great.
O∆K is the premier leadership education and development organization for colleges and universities. Having had the privilege of becoming O∆K members ourselves and the blessing of learning from and working with some truly great leaders, we know well how important it is to create, develop, and nurture opportunities for student leaders to emerge and grow. This requires the commitment of time, talents, and gifts.
This form of stewardship is especially important to ensure that our nation can continue to pursue our common goal of becoming a better society and be a beacon of hope to our own citizens and the rest of the world. That is why we consider it a solemn duty, and an honor, to invest in O∆K’s future. Please join us.”
