National Leadership Conference
**Hotel Block closes on October 30 at 11:59 p.m.**
**Registration Closes on October 28**
It’s not too late to bring your circle to one of the most important programs in the OΔK year. Caring on My Mind is the theme for this three-day leadership experience, November 17-19, 2023. We have enlightening speakers, interactive sessions, amazing members, and a fantastic location in Atlanta, Georgia. Join members and circles from around the country as we demonstrate the strength of the O∆K network.
We are offering $125 grants for one collegiate member from each circle and discounts for groups of 5 or more.
Clay Grants
The 2024 application is now open! The submission deadline is Sunday, Oct. 30, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Every year, O∆K provides ten or more grants with an average of $500 to help develop leadership programs on their campuses. To be eligible to apply for a 2024 Clay Grant, circles must have submitted a 2023 Circle Annual Report. Circles that submitted an annual report but are suspended or inactive or did not initiate members last year may apply but will receive additional questions from O∆K National Headquarters before the application is considered. The list of eligible circles is available here.
In addition, two additional diversity, equity, and inclusion grants (up to $750 each) are dedicated to programs that support the leadership development of historically underrepresented and marginalized populations or seek to bring leaders together to address issues of racial and ethnic injustice in their campus community. Read more about promoting DEI efforts within circles here.
For the past year, ΟΔΚ has been working to launch “MyΟDΚ,” a member engagement platform allowing members to log in, update their work and contact information, view their membership records, and access exclusive benefits and events. We will launch the portal for members at the National Leadership Conference.
MyODK will be the application submission and review system for circles, replacing the Membership Management System (MMS). Beginning in November, we will start beta-testing MyODK with circles for the application process. If your circle is planning to initiate in December 2023 or January 2024, we would like to have you be the first to use the new system. Please contact myodk@odk.org if you are willing to help us launch the new system. Every circle that begins its initiation cycle after January 1, 2024, will be required to use MyODK.
We are scheduling training sessions for MyODK in November and December. Look for a special announcement about those dates in the near future.
Circle Advisor Training Workshop
Registration opens October 30 for the 3rd annual Circle Advisor Training Workshop.
This event, set for January 5-6, 2024, is focused on advisors who are relatively new to the role, generally within the past two years. This two-day program will feature dynamic speakers, opportunities to engage with fellow advisors, and support from the OΔK national headquarters team. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the Society, resources, and support to fulfill and enjoy your advising responsibilities and a new network of colleagues to call on for advice. There is no registration fee for this event. OΔK will cover the costs for the Friday night hotel stay, meals (Friday evening reception; Saturday breakfast and lunch), hotel parking, and event materials.

Circle Leader of the Year
In June 2022, the Board of Trustees voted to change the process by which Omicron Delta Kappa selects the National Leader of the Year (NLOY) and when circles select the Circle Leader of the Year.
The Circle Leader of the Year (CLOY) honor is no longer a gateway to the NLOY. For that reason, the CLOY process has been moved to the winter and spring. Circles are still expected to select a CLOY – a person dedicated to the circle’s leadership and success. The circle then notifies the National Headquarters of its selection. The CLOY recipients will receive a signed certificate suitable for framing, be recognized on the O∆K website and through social media, and be recognized at the National Leadership Conference.
Submissions for the CLOY open on January 1, 2024.
We hope to have every circle select a Circle Leader of the Year in 2024.
