It has been an adventurous journey working on your behalf as the National Student Vice President. The past year has displayed the holistic leadership and value of Omicron Delta Kappa: from individual Circles to headquarters staff to our board of directors and even to our presence in the workplace.
The activities of Circles such as those at SUNY Plattsburgh, UAlbany, Samford, Florida Southern, UMass Lowell, University of Maryland, University of Baltimore, Morehouse College, and hundreds of others represent the vision our founders set forth 99 years ago. Each and every individual belonging to ODK represents the value our organization has in society.
I am proud to be a voice for the thousands of active ODK members. More importantly, I am happy to represent and convey the value of ODK and our endeavors in the goal to better and constantly evolve the organization.
Early in my work as the National Student Vice President, I was charged with identification of strategic alliance partners, to be announced by the time of the Centennial Celebration, representing each of the five phases of campus life. Each strategic alliance is intended to provide increased opportunities and added benefits for all of our membership. Our Strategic
Alliance Ad Hoc Committee and ODK’s Society Board of Directors have facilitated two successful alliances with Teach for America and Gallup/Strengths Quest. We are currently tracking various metrics of performance with these organizations to ensure quality, value, and
opportunity.
We are working diligently, passionately, and with extreme focus to facilitate three additional alliances representing the other phases of collegiate leadership. These would include alliances focused on media/communications/journalism, collegiate athletics, and campus/community/religious service. Each of the three prospective alliances represents hours of cultivation and exploration of the value of each potential relationship for ODK members.
