Concurrent Sessions are critical to the educational and developmental purpose of the conference. These sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes in length and serve to provide our membership with opportunities to gain knowledge and skills in a variety of areas. Sessions for collegiate members, circle officers, and lifetime members will be complemented by keynote speakers and special sessions that will enlighten and engage. The conference theme, “Caring On My Mind,” will encourage attendees to consider how they can improve their personal wellness, as well as care for their circles, campuses and communities.
The sessions are divided into tracks to assist conference attendees in selecting the sessions they wish to attend. The tracks can be seen as a set so that if an attendee would participate in every session in that track, they would have an in-depth understanding of the track area. They could also choose to attend one session in each track providing a more general overview. This process allows for great individual choice in planning attendance at the conference.
Session tracks include:
- Care for Self: Sessions in this track should focus on how members can improve their personal wellness, and could include yoga, guided meditation, goal-setting exercises, or a focus on personal leadership development.
- Care for Circles: Sessions in this track should focus on improving circle operations (such as running effective meetings, best practices for recruitment, etc.), or developing connections amongst the circle (teambuilding, group goal-setting, etc.).
- Care for Community: These sessions should focus on how O∆K members can improve their campuses and communities. Sessions could include innovative programs, strategies for developing new partnerships, how to utilize your O∆K experiences in post-collegiate settings, etc.
