Beginning in 2013, when then National President Mike Christakis (Alfred University, 1998) started the practice, our Society has tried to predict the winner of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship by using our own special O∆K methodology:
- If one team’s school has a circle and the other school’s team does not, the school with the circle is projected to win.
- If both teams are at institutions with circles, the circle with the earlier founding date is projected to win.
- If neither team is at a school with a circle, the higher seed is projected to win.
According to O∆K Bracketology 2025, the Men’s Final Four should come down to:
Auburn (1928) versus Maryland (1927) and Akron (1922) versus Kentucky (1925) – with Akron beating Maryland in the championship game.
We also created a bracket to predict the winner of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. After using the same methodology, the Women’s Final Four should come down to:
Richmond (1921) versus Kentucky (1925) and Alabama (1924) versus William & Mary (1921) – with Richmond beating William & Mary in the final game.
Good luck to the 20 women’s schools and 23 men’s schools with O∆K Circles as they complete in March Madness.
Our methodology for the men’s tournament actually worked once – in 2013. That year, it predicted that Louisville would win the national championship.
May our brackets (which you can view below) not get BUSTED!
