Jacqulyn Subar

Omicron Delta Kappa proudly recognizes Jackie Subar, a distinguished leader and advocate, in celebration of Women’s History Month. Jackie currently serves as the National Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), where she plays a pivotal role in strengthening national partnerships and advancing ADL’s mission to combat antisemitism and secure justice and fair treatment to all.
With a background in advocacy and community building, Jackie has worked throughout her career at the intersection of policy and people, striving to make a positive impact and help build the world we wish to see. Before joining ADL, Jackie was the Assistant Director for AJC Global’s Department of Policy and Political Affairs. In this role, she championed bipartisan civil rights initiatives, collaborated with U.S. lawmakers, and worked to tackle challenges tied to addressing hate crimes, domestic terrorism, and foreign affairs.
Jackie’s commitment to fostering intergroup and diplomatic relations has been a hallmark of her career in Washington, D.C. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the George Bush School at Texas A&M University and spent a year studying in Israel, further enriching her global perspective. Today she calls Colorado home. She currently serves as a Colorado Governor’s Fellow and recent alumna of Roots & Branches, a philanthropic collaborative through the Rose Community Foundation.
As an Omicron Delta Kappa member, Jackie exemplifies the values of leadership, service, and scholarship. Her dedication to advancing social justice continues to inspire the OΔK community and beyond.

Kathryn Thornton
(University of Virginia, 1996)
Omicron Delta Kappa proudly honors Dr. Kathryn C. Thornton, a pioneering astronaut, educator, and leader, in celebration of Women’s History Month. A veteran of four space missions, Dr. Thornton has made lasting contributions to science, engineering, and space exploration.
Selected by NASA in 1984, Dr. Thornton logged over 975 hours in space, including more than 21 hours of extravehicular activity (EVA). Her missions included critical tasks such as servicing the Hubble Space Telescope and demonstrating space station assembly techniques. Notably, she was part of the maiden flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavour and played a key role in the STS-61 Hubble repair mission.
In addition to her NASA achievements, Dr. Thornton is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. Her expertise and mentorship have shaped future generations of engineers and scientists. She also served as Chairwoman of the Space Foundation Board of Directors from 2020-2022.
Dr. Thornton’s accolades include induction into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, multiple NASA Space Flight Medals, and the University of Virginia Distinguished Alumna Award.
